Psychodynamic Therapy

Welcome to The Malone Collective, a therapy and wellness company dedicated to providing holistic approaches to mental health. One of the approaches we offer is psychodynamic therapy, which has proven effective in treating a wide range of mental health issues.

What is Psychodynamic Therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talk therapy that aims to help individuals explore their unconscious thoughts and feelings that may be contributing to their current emotional and behavioral issues. This therapy is based on the belief that our past experiences and relationships, especially during childhood, shape our current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Psychodynamic therapy allows individuals to work with a trained therapist to identify and understand their unconscious conflicts, patterns of behavior, and defense mechanisms. By understanding these deeper issues, clients can begin to make changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Efficacy Statistics

Research shows that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective in treating a range of mental health issues. A meta-analysis of 23 randomized controlled trials found that psychodynamic therapy was effective in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Additionally, a long-term follow-up study found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy continued even after treatment had ended, with individuals experiencing sustained improvements in their mental health.

Psychodynamic therapy has been found to be effective in treating a variety of mental health issues, including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Personality disorders

  • Relationship issues

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Substance abuse

Psychodynamic therapy can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other therapies. For example, it can be used alongside medication for individuals with severe mental health issues, such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. Additionally, some individuals may benefit from combining psychodynamic therapy with cognitive-behavioral therapy, which focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.
